Children's Privacy Policy

This Children's Privacy Policy describes how CoachAI ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information about children under the age of 13 ("children") in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA").

1. Verifiable Parental Consent

We do not collect personal information from children under 13 without prior verifiable parental consent. Before a child's data is entered into CoachAI, the coach must:

Send a consent request to the child's parent or legal guardian via SMS or email
Obtain verified parental consent via email link confirmation
Obtain separate consent for any AI processing of the child's data

2. What Information We Collect About Children

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the sports team management service:

First and last name
Date of birth (to verify age and apply COPPA protections)
Team/sport participation records
Game attendance and substitution records
Emergency contact information (provided by parent)

We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial information, precise geolocation, photos, or videos of children without separate explicit consent.

3. How We Use Children's Information

Children's information is used only to:

Manage team rosters and scheduling
Track fair play time during games
Communicate team information to parents
Generate AI-powered substitution recommendations (with separate AI consent)

4. AI Processing Disclosure

CoachAI uses AI features (powered by Anthropic Claude) for substitution recommendations and drill generation. If your child's data is used in AI features, we will obtain your separate, explicit consent before doing so. You may withdraw AI consent at any time by contacting privacy@putmein.co.

5. Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or disclose children's personal information to third parties except:

Service providers: Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (hosting), Twilio (SMS notifications), Sentry (error tracking) — all bound by data processing agreements
Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect safety

6. Parental Rights

As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:

Review the personal information we have collected about your child
Delete your child's personal information from our systems
Refuse further collection of your child's information
Withdraw consent at any time without penalty

7. Data Retention

Children's data is retained only as long as the team is active. Upon account deletion or withdrawal of consent, children's personal information is deleted within 30 days except where required by law.

Under the 2025 COPPA Rule, parental consent for children's data is renewed annually. You will receive a renewal email each year; if you do not renew, your child's data will be deleted.
